Comfy-Cute

Gap Sweater, Gap Shorts

There's nothing like a comfy outfit you can wear on a lazy day and look effortlessly cute. Some days you just want to go hang out with friends and not worry. This loose pink sweater is so comfortable! I can add it to a more fashionable piece, like floral shorts and have an outfit. With the casual feel, I can just keep my hair natural with a headband to keep it out of my face.

I started school last week, so I am going to be super busy. I will make sure I post once or twice a week though! Keep checking Simply Daring and share it with your friends!

Edge It Up a Little

Lately I have been really into pairing pieces that have some edge with more girly items. For example, I love wearing my studded shorts with lace or sheer tops. They just balance each other out, and it makes super cute outfits. I usually add a shirt that has lace or girly details to my studded shorts with gold jewelry. You could do the same thing once fall comes around with pieces like combat boots, leather jackets, and black skinny jeans.

Summer Dresses

One of my favorite things about summer style is the cute dresses! Wherever you go, there are so many cute dresses in fun summer colors and prints. This one's ruffles and color combination caught my eye at a beach store while I was on vacation. To add another pink, I added this adorable belt I picked up at Maude. I just love the two flowers on it. My brown strappy sandals and loose fishtail braid were cute-casual summer additions to the outfit.

Personal Style

I have been meaning to do this post for a while because I feel that it is so important. The reason I haven't started it sooner is probably just because I've been more focused on outfit type posts. If you take away anything from reading my blog, please understand this! I believe this is important to everyone, but especially to girls in their teen years who are trying to find who they are. I have so much to say about this that I'm not going to just make it so much. I'm thinking I will break up what I want to say into a few posts.

When picking out your outfits and buying clothes, pick what YOU like and not just what the girls at school are wearing. Developing your own personal style is very important. Don't just wear all of the big trends or what your friends are wearing. Keep in mind, I'm not saying that you should just ignore all of the trends. I believe that you should still pay attention to what's in style, just don't let that define you. I'm also not telling you to go buy a whole new wardrobe of stuff because everything in your closet is what other people like. Be creative and work with what you already have. Wear what makes you happy and don't care what other people think! Once I started doing that I realized it's a lot easier than working to please someone with what you wear every day.

Your style doesn't have to be defined by one word or category. Just work to make it your own. Be original! For example, my personal style is a huge mix. I would say it's about 50% classic, while the other half is a mixture of girly, vintage, indie and glam. That's five things. I would love love love to hear about what your personal style consists of! Tell me what it includes, send me pictures of your original outfits or tell me about when you realized you should just wear what you want. Email me or tell me in the comments. This was just an introduction to this subject. I will be posting more on the different categories of this like finding what you really like, the different types of style, and more!
