Tough it Out

{American Eagle vest, top, jeans, shoes, watch, Savoir-Faire stud bracelet, KetiSorely Monogram Necklace}

If you have been reading my blog for long, you know that you can typically find an edgier piece in each outfit I wear. My style definitely wouldn't be defined as edgy; I just don't like things to look too sweet, so I will add combat boots or something studded. This military jacket is the absolute perfect thing to wear with any outfit, for any season. It instantly adds that cool-girl vibe because it's perfectly broken in, and it takes a gauzy tank to a new level.

I wanted to create an outfit that would be a little too girly for my taste on its own so I could throw the vest over it. Distressed jeans work perfectly with a sweet, cream colored tank in a lace-like material. The gold cap toe on the flats matches with the gold jewelry.  A vest and a top knot are the finishing touches to the look!

Pretend I Went to Coachella

{one of my favorite looks via}
Seeing posts about Coachella is making me insanely jealous. Everything about the festival looks perfect to me: the carefree style. the best collection of music, and the overall atmosphere. I would die if I got to see the xx, Of Monsters and Men, Vampire Weekend, Passion Pit, The Lumineers, Two Door Cinema Club, and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs in one weekend. The lineup is pretty much everything I listen to in one place.

Since I couldn't be there, I decided to try a Coachella-esque outfit at a park in the ever-exciting Arkansas. Of course, cutoffs are needed as the base piece. I also wore an airy top in spring colors that played onto the boho vibe. My desert colored lace up boots completed the look by adding a carefree element. They also would have protected my feet from getting nasty at the festival.

Casino Royale Dance

I recently had one of the most exciting nights of my life, aka my first official school dance! There's something about getting all prettied up in a nice dress that makes you feel special. For the event, I got my makeup done at the MAC counter, curled my hair, and put on a gorgeous dress and heels. A group of my friends all got together to eat and take pictures beforehand. Here are some photos from the big night!
The dance is called Baby Prom since it's a mini version of prom for the 8th and 9th graders at our school. This year it was Casino Royale themed, and the upperclassmen did such an amazing job of decorating and planning! We spent the night dancing to upbeat music played by the DJ, posing for pictures, and  making memories. None of us wanted to leave!

{Johanna who never fails to make me laugh}
{Sophie who is a role model for faith and love}
{Caroline who is extremely talented in every way}
{Kaitlin who is literally the sweetest, most encouraging
girl out there, aka the Baby Prom Princess}
{Georgia who puts a smile on my face no matter what the circumstance is}

Funky Town

There can be perks to living in a smaller, funky town. For example: First Thursdays. On the first Thursday of every month (March- September) there is a small festival-type gathering on our town square. Local musicians play, food carts and booths are set up, and the amount of people milling around is just right. It's the perfect spot to go with your family for a chilled out night of people watching and food tasting.

I chose to wear an Arkansas-appropriate outfit for the evening. It was a little chilly that night, so I wore a long cardigan over my white drapey top and cutoffs. I can't even begin to describe how much I have already worn these shorts on the warmer days we have had. Cowboy boots completed the outfit and added to the Arkansas vibe.

Confessional Friday

I've been wanting for my blog readers to get a better taste of my personality lately. If you just read my blog, you might think I'm just another "fashion obsessed teenager." That's honestly not how I am in real life. So you all could learn a little more about me, I'm linking up with A Blonde Ambition for Confessional Friday today!

I confess... It has been tough getting back to school. I'm still getting over Spring Break and how amazing the mission trip was. I'm missing the smiling kids, my amazing group, and getting to serve the Lord like that. At least I've had an excuse to have coffee every day since I got back.

{sweet Aileen}

I confess... I got my doubles pierced last Sunday, and I have never loved wearing earrings more. I had been wanting to get them for almost a year, and the results lined up perfectly with my expectations.

I confess... I can't stand country music. Since I live in Arkansas everybody apparently thinks it's mandatory to love it. I'm sorry, but it just annoys me so much. I still respect what you like even if I can't listen to it for two minutes.

I confess... Makeup is just too much work sometimes. I'm up to going to school makeup free two or three days a week now, and it's just so much nicer.

I confess... I'm wearing my Santa pajama pants right now. Who cares if it's April?!

I confess... I. Love. Sloths. They are my favorite animals, and I may or may not have a folder on my phone with almost 100 sloth pictures.

I confess... I am beyond excited for my first school dance tonight. I'm just going with friends, but I get to wear a fancy dress, curl my hair, and get my makeup done at the MAC counter! Expect pictures to be coming from Baby Prom! (It's prom for 8th and 9th graders.)

What do you have to confess?

Easter Sunday

Isn't Easter the perfect holiday?! It's all about God's love for us and Christ raising from the dead. Guys, Jesus died to save US. He left the grave empty to fill up the empty parts of us. It's so huge that we have somebody who loves us so unconditionally that He would die for us while we are so messed up.

I hope you all enjoyed your holiday. I spent mine going to church, having a family lunch, and relaxing. It was a treat to get to see and spend time with family that isn't around enough. Our traditional meal, which included ham and carrot cake, was delicious. Sunny weather made the day even more perfect.

This year, I wanted my Easter outfit to get as springy as it could. The weather lately has been insane, and I wanted to embrace the nice day as much as I could. My dress was a pretty, pale pink color, and it had some fluttery parts. Over it, I wore my white blazer (it was only $20!), and belted it to add shape. My sandals even got taken out of hiding for the perfect weather.

What did you do for Easter?
